Save Rohingya II (Part I) – Emergency Aid
(1/9/2017 – 24/10/2017)
The Rohingyas are once again being attacked and slaughtered by the Burmese army. This isn’t the first time they are being evicted from their homeland and killed. This news first emerged few days before the Eidul Adha and it has gotten worse and worse despite Eidul Adha being the holy celebration for the Rohingyas. Our staffs flew to Bangladesh a day before Eidul Adha to manage our Qurban & Aqiqah 2017 project but they got the shock of their lifetime when they visited the Rohingya refugee “camp” and witness the heart-wrenching condition of the refugees.
Our staffs flew to Bangladesh a day before Eidul Adha to manage our Qurban & Aqiqah 2017 project but they got the shock of their lifetime when they visited the Rohingya refugee “camp” and witness with their own eyes the heart-wrenching condition of the refugees. The Rohingyas have to cross the border in order to enter Bangladesh and they have to cross the Naf River in order to do so. A lot of them were killed by mortars and machine guns fired by the Burmese armies while many of the children drowned and died while attempting to cross the river.
Needless to say, those who miraculously made it across the border were forced to live in a terrible condition in a so-called refugee camp that looks more like an open space than a camp. The high influx of Rohingyas refugees to Bangladesh left them with no choice but to accept their current living condition as there isn’t much help available.
They are in grave need of help. They might have escaped the brutality of the Burmese army in their homeland but now they are being threatened by starvation and unsanitary living condition that eventually will result in their death. Al-I’tisam Relief Program Association has launched SAVE ROHINGYA II – Rohingya Disaster Fund with its main aims being;
1. Soup Kitchen
– providing hot meal to 1000 refugees daily
– providing bamboo and plastic cover to at least 650 families
