Do you remember the feelings of going home to see hot food served on your table? Exactly. Deliver the same happiness to those less unfortunate people. Furthermore, food has always been at the base of the hierarchy of needs, so you know how important they are for survival.
As Prophet Muhammad PBUH said, narrated by Bukhari “He is not a Muslim who goes to bed satiated while his neighbor goes hungry”. Al-I’tisam Food Aid program is designed to help tackle the issue of world hunger in a short term and longer term in areas hit by disasters, conflict or some poor regions of the world.
Not every poor people are hungry, but almost all hungry people are poor. Poverty can be said as the principal cause of hunger, followed by war. We are trying to do our part in fighting hunger. Our Food Aid program dated back in 201X with our main focus at that time being the flood victims during the monsoon season in Malaysia. After that, we expand our project to help the poor in India and Cambodia. In 2015, we started to provide aid to people in Burma, Bangladesh and Gaza.
As we mentioned above, the Food Aid is either supplied for a short term or a long term.
- Victims of natural disasters; flood and typhoon
- People who live in area where food supply is temporarily cut off due to the monsoon season
- Poor family living in urban area
- People affected by war
As of 2016, we are including Yemen in the program as the country is facing a crisis and many of its citizens are being displaced from their home. As Mother Teresa say “if you can’t feed a hundred people then feed just one”, we call upon people of the free world to support our cause. More help are urgently needed for the program to be sustained and cover as many people as we could.
